It can only be God's grace

It can only be God's grace

It was only yesterday 

When I was in pain.

My body and soul were tortured 

By a rare condition that affects

One in a hundred thousand, 

They call it Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS)

My belief in God kept my faculties together. 

The world turned upside down 

And  I couldn't walk, 

I struggled to eat and breathe.

 I admired walking 

And walking was a huge achievement.

By the grace of God,

 I took baby steps to recovery 

And the recovery was far quicker than 

The doctors and experts anticipated. 

Healing can only come from the Almighty God.  

During my trying times my faith 

And hope came from God, 

Without him, I would have been dead or paralyzed. 

There are people who don't believe in miracles

And I guess it's because they have never encountered them

Or haven't seen anyone being healed. 

I am a testament to the healing power of God. 

At least now the people who saw me in the hospital 

Or who saw my health deteriorating can now testify 

And glorify God. 

Mountains are there in life for good reasons, 

Normally to teach us the things we wouldn't 

Ordinarily, learn from our daily lives. 

What I learnt during that period 

I wouldn't have learnt it anywhere, 

Not even at Harvard University.  

I thank God for that, 

My experience was like a gem an unexploited virgin mine. 

All because of God I am well,

Alive and enthusiastic
